Abrasive Raw Materials



White Fused Alumina


White Fused alumina is produced by fusing calcined alumina in an electric arc furnace. This white fused alumina lumps is then crushed and graded to produce WFA grains and fines for abrasives and refractories.

 

WFA is used extensively used in vitrified abrasives in critical areas where Iron free grinding is required.

 

 

In refractories WFA is used in high alumina bricks, castables and continuous casting refractories.

Brown Fused Alumina


Brown fused alumina is widely used in bonded and coated abrasives for the grinding of metals. Produced by fusing calcined bauxite in a reducing atmosphere, this help in removing residual sulphur & carbon and improves toughness, thus an ideal material for vitrified abrasives usage. Our range is available in standard grit and powder sizes to meet varied needs of clients.

Zirconia Alumina


Zirconia alumina is used for producing abrasives of very high toughness with long life.  Produced by cleaning and crushing fused electocast blocks, it has nil porosity, high density and excellent refractoriness. It is generally used as sand blasting medium and as an abrasive in foundry and casting processes.

Calcined Brown Fused Alumina


Calcined Brown Fused Alumina is produced by calcining BFA at 1300 degrees. This removes residual Sulphur and Carbon and improves toughness thereby making it ideal for Vitrified Abrasives usage.

Semi Friable Alumina is low titanium brown fused alumina. We call semi-friable fused alumina. It has higher hardness and friability ability compaired with brown fused alumina.It offers good cutting performance in fast and can be widely used in bonded abrasives for working with heat sensitive metals and alloys, soft non-ferrous metals and rubber plastic,wood etc.
